My favorite Chinese emoticon is the one called 捂脸 wu3 lian3, aka covers face.
Ex. usage:
I picked up a beanbag from my dorm’s rescue bin and wanted to keep it after washing it, but I heard you were supposed to get the little polystyrene beads out before washing it and there was a safety lock over the zipper. So, I called my dormmate who had moved back home over to borrow her tool-kit, and she ended up making the challenge personal and stayed there to try and open the lock with me.
20 mins and one hand injury later, we finally got the lock off! We celebrated, she went home, I started scheduling posts, and an hour later I opened the bag to get the beads out.
The beads went everywhere.
Then I discovered, there was a second zipper located above the one we had been focused on. It also had a lock.
After making a mess of half the beanbag, I just threw it in the laundry machine with the rest of the beads still in there. Nothing spilled out, thankfully.
