Chapter 3277: So When Did You Two End up Friends?

Ning Shu felt a little creeped out watching Crossbow Lar’s actions.

Dagger Mu got a bump on his head, but didn’t even fight back—Ning Shu found that even creepier.

She glanced sideways at Crossbow Lar and Dagger Mu. Something had gone on between them that she didn’t know about.

“Ning Shu, I can discipline him. He was abused by his wielder. Because he was young, he turned out like this,” Crossbow Lar said to her.

Ning Shu curled her lip. “Oh, come off it. You weapons are supposed to have mature minds, regardless of age.”

“So when did you two end up friends?” Ning Shu raised an eyebrow.

Dagger Mu started laughing again with that crackling laugh. Ning Shu said with disdain, “What are you laughing for? Your laugh sounds awful.”

“Just now, were you doubting your weapon? Thinking he was colluding with me? Were you wondering if he’s already been influenced by me and might start gnawing on your flesh and darken?”

Ning Shu: …

You’ve got quite the imagination.

Crossbow Lar quickly said to Ning Shu, “I would never betray you. Really.”

“I know. I trust you. Do you think I’d believe some fallen weapon bent on revenge against the world?”

Crossbow Lar punched Dagger Mu on the head again and said, “Apologize to my master.”

“I won’t. She really did doubt you just now, Lar. Come on, darken. Free yourself from this disgusting human,” Dagger Mu said, clutching his head.

“I’ll never betray my master. If not for her, I’d already be dead,” Crossbow Lar said solemnly. “Apologize to my master.”

“I won’t.” Dagger Mu stiffened his neck.

“Then leave. Stop following us. You keep trying to hurt my master,” Crossbow Lar said coldly.

“I won’t leave…” Dagger Mu’s lips trembled, so aggrieved he was about to cry. “Lar, why stay with a human? They’re hypocritical, fickle, cruel, and vicious.”

Ning Shu: …

The vibe between Crossbow Lar and Dagger Mu was getting weird.

Ning Shu kicked Dagger Mu out the window and asked Crossbow Lar, “You want to keep him around?”

“Damned woman! Damned woman! I’ll tear you apart!” Dagger Mu screamed from downstairs.

Crossbow Lar paused and said, “Mu is a simple child. His first contract was with a child too. Maybe it was that child’s ignorant willfulness and cruelty that caused him pain.”

Ning Shu: “Oh!”

“With some training, he could still become Master’s weapon. Even though he’s fallen, he’s still usable.”

“Oh, your master’s gotten so desperate she’s willing to use a fallen weapon? You really overestimate your own self-control and mental state.”

“It only takes a drop of ink to taint a glass of water. But no amount of clean water can make that tainted glass clear again,” Ning Shu said. “Dagger Mu is that drop of ink.”

Crossbow Lar lowered his head. “I know.”

Ning Shu held her forehead. “Whatever. If you want him around, keep him around.”

“But regular weapons are affected by fallen ones. You’re the one who’ll suffer. Why are you keeping Dagger Mu with you even if it hurts you?”

“Or have you already been darkened?” Ning Shu asked bluntly.

Crossbow Lar replied firmly, “I will never darken. If I ever do, I’ll end my life. I’ll never feed on your flesh to stay alive.”

Ning Shu felt exhausted. A fallen weapon had barged in, and it looked like it was even trying to poach her weapon.

And Crossbow Lar seemed to want to bring him to heel.

“You’re trying to redeem him with love?” Ning Shu flopped onto the bed. “Let him feel that true love exists in the world?”

Crossbow Lar: ???

“I just think he’s a sulking kid. I’m not trying to redeem him. Master can use brute force to bring him in line,” Crossbow Lar said.
