Background: “Bubble” was a sad song G.E.M. composed after breaking up with her significant other. At that time, she had felt very depressed emotionally and it even affected her work. Thus, she bought a plane ticket and went to New York by herself and stayed there for a week.
One day, she saw a clown blowing bubbles on a busy street. It was beautiful, but at that time, it occurred to her that the bubbles were like lies. They were beautiful, but as soon as one touched them, it would burst, causing one’s heart to break. Based on that inspiration, she wrote this song.
This MV was also a one-shot MV that was filmed over the course of two days. They spent an entire day doing dummy runs and had to make a lot of adjustments in order to get the timing and scenarios just right.
The reason why they decided on a one-shot MV was because they felt that it was a very sincere song, so cutting and editing scenes to make them appear more perfect would take some of the realism out of the music video.
